Building a vibrant downtown in the heart of Pineville.
ABOUT US
The Pineville Downtown Development District (PDDD) is a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana, created to lead the revitalization and long-term growth of Pineville’s historic central business district. Operating independently from the City of Pineville, our mission is to strengthen downtown as a vibrant hub for commerce, culture, and community life.
PDDD is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, appointed by various local agencies to ensure broad representation and strong community collaboration. This diverse board provides strategic oversight and helps guide the district’s development priorities.
We support local businesses and encourage economic development through planning, redevelopment projects, and business-focused initiatives.
PDDD currently manages two active grant programs designed to help businesses within the district invest, expand, and thrive.
In addition to our downtown work, PDDD is responsible for coordinating the redevelopment of the former Central Louisiana State Hospital property. Through a state-authorized process, we oversee the sale of portions of the property via Requests for Proposals (RFPs), paving the way for new development, investment, and job creation.
Together with our board, partners, and community, PDDD is committed to building a strong, sustainable future for Pineville.
